Process Technician (IMOD)/Molding Technician (BMOD) - Madison, GA Facility
Purpose & Expectations

The purpose of this position is to provide support to direct manufacturing activities in the form of mold set-up, auxiliary equipment set-up, and other duties as assigned. The Process/Molding Technician is expected to understand the customer quality expectations and production standards and be able to set processing controls to achieve these expectations. A Process/Molding Technician is expected to perform all activities in a safe manner and ensure that their efforts provide a safe work environment for others. The Process/Molding Technician is responsible for implementation of quality systems as identified in the Flambeau Inc., Madison GA Quality Manual and supporting documentation. There may be other duties and responsibilities expected that are too numerous and varied to describe in this format. This position will report to the Production Manager.
Essential Job Functions

• Transportation of molds to and from storage areas.
• Set up and pulling of molds into injection or blow molding presses, as defined by procedures.
• Starting (cycling) of molding process on each machine.
• Diagnosis (troubleshooting) of molding process problems.
• Documentation & taking of corrective action on process problems.
• Response to process alarms in a timely fashion.
• Documentation of activities related to processing set up, changes & variances.
• Set up, break down and proper storage of auxiliary equipment.
• Perform general maintenance activities on equipment.
• Perform activities in a safe manner, ensuring that process operates in a safe manner.
• Wipe down and general cleaning of molds, presses & other equipment and maintain good housekeeping
in work areas.
• Ability to drive fork truck and obtain license.
• Maintain an acceptable attendance record.
Physical Demands

• Sitting, standing or walking for periods up to three hours at a time.
• Reaching, feeling, handling or grasping; twisting, turning and bending, sometimes in awkward
body positions.
• Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling 100 pounds or less.
• Ability to properly distinguish colors and shades of colors.
• Working with various hand tools, power tools and machining equipment up to eight hours at a time.
Environmental & Working Conditions

• Inside work on manufacturing floor.
• Work with some lubricants or other chemicals.
Equipment Used

• Hand tools and power tools such as drills, saws, hammers, ratchets and screwdrivers.
• Fork truck.
• Machining equipment such as lathe, mill, surface grinder.
• Brass cavity tools.
• Specialized/custom tools such as overhead crane.
• Auxiliary equipment such as grinder, hot stamp machine, sonic welder, material dryer, pad printer,
magnetizer, automatic assembly equipment, mold temperature controllers, part pickers, robots, etc.
• Personal protective equipment as required.
Knowledge & Skills

• Effective communication skills written and oral.
• Ability to read, write, add, subtract, multiply & divide.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to properly give instruction to others and properly act on input received from others.
• Formal training in or equivalent knowledge of injection molding processing.
• Proven mechanical aptitude.
• Working knowledge of secondary and auxiliary equipment.
• Working knowledge of molding resins.
• Ability to follow all company work rules, policies, procedures and guidelines.
Education

• High school diploma.
• Minimum of two-years of equivalent experience; technical degree related to maintenance preferred.
• A score of 16 or higher on the Wonderlic Personnel Test.
Medical

Applicants will be required to submit to a drug screen after an employment offer has been made. The employment offer is contingent on receiving negative test results. The use of any tobacco product is prohibited in the manufacturing/warehouse areas and only in designated break area. All associates must be fit for duty when reporting for any activities that are paid for by Flambeau Inc., Madison GA. If there is a reasonable suspicion as to an individual’s fitness for duty, that individual may be asked to submit to a drug screen or medical examination or both. Any refusal to cooperate under a reasonable suspicion situation, will place the associate into corrective discipline which may include discharge.
