You may be asking, "Why the frog?" Well, at Flambeau, we are very proud of this little frog. As the first product manufactured by the co-founders back in 1947, the Halik Frog fishing lure is a tangible reminder of the company's simple beginning, and the six subsequent decades of growth and achievement in plastic manufacturing.
Shortly after World War II, W.R. Sauey and his brother, Ed, put all of their combined savings toward the purchase of parts to build a handmade injection molding machine. Since 1947, Flambeau has grown to include thousands of caring and committed associates and over 1,400,000 square feet of production space. Flambeau's USA manufacturing facilities are located at Baraboo, Wisconsin; Columbus, Indiana; Madison, Georgia; Middlefield, Ohio; Redlands, California; and Weldon, North Carolina. Our international facilities include Ramsgate, Kent England; and Saltillo, Coahuila México.
From that first fishing lure, Flambeau has grown to encompass a diverse range of manufactured plastic products sold through three market groups: Retail Markets Group, Automotive Group and Industrial/Packaging Group. Flambeau manufactures plastic products that meet the needs of both industrial & consumer customers. |

| History of the Flambeau Name |
 |
 |
In the early part of the 17th century, French explorers came upon a group of Ojibwe fishing late at night on what was then known as the Chippewa River, The Ojibwe were illuminating their fishing expedition with torches the French called "Flambeau," whereby the river then became the Flambeau River.
The co-founders of the business, W.R. Sauey and his brother, Ed, in their youth, often swam in the Flambeau River. Many memories from their childhood made the name "Flambeau" a natural choice for the name of the company they were to start. And so it was, that Flambeau, and other related companies manufacturing plastic products were born. |
