Friday, December 23, 2011 – Flambeau, Inc., a subsidiary of Nordic Group of Companies, Ltd. (Baraboo, WI) announced today its acquisition of Partners in Plastics, LLC (PIP), located in Sharon Center, Ohio (near Akron). Only five months after successfully merging MasterCraft Companies® of Phoenix, Arizona into its fold, Flambeau, a leading contract manufacturer and proprietary products market leader headquartered in Baraboo, Wisconsin, completed the asset purchase for an undisclosed amount out of receivership at Key Bank.
Initially an original equipment manufacturer for children’s toys, the Sharon Center company had grown to become a high-quality blow molded (and foam) products manufacturer serving the Midwest and Northeast US regions in the healthcare, lawn and garden, agriculture, consumer products, industrial and fuel tank markets. With over 99% on-time shipments, PIP had grown an excellent reputation for its products and timely delivery. The firm offered concept engineering, material and product development, project management including mold construction supervision and fixture development and assembly.
These capabilities together with Flambeau’s sales and production management personnel with 65 years of experience in injection molding, blow molding, mold building, fixture design and manufacturing capability, project management, secondary operations and assembly make Flambeau a powerhouse in providing thermoplastic customer solutions.
The Sharon Center, Ohio 123,000 square foot facility is ISO 9001:2000 quality certified and UL certified. It is creatively organized for projects to flow efficiently through the facility. With 15 dual-head blow molding machines ranging from 3 lbs to 40 lbs shot sizes this added operation has the capacity to react to a wide range of customer OEM component manufacturing and assembly needs. The facility has experience processing HDPE, polypropylene, high molecular weight polyethylene, Noryl™, urethane, and Xenoy™.
